Three Great Things About This Evening's Ride

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Chasing my shadow, the sun and wind behind us
Barbed wire fences draped in honeysuckle sweetness
Wild geese calling "Here's a lake, here's a lake"

  1. I can see the shadow, feel the wind, smell the hoeysuckle and hear the geese. Wonderful.

  2. Thanks! It was a good day for a ride. I counted at least 7 kinds of wildflowers. It was hard to limit my list to "3 great things".

  3. I love rides when it would be difficult to limit the 3 things... unless we're talking Monday's inaugural ride for The Lizard's new mountain bike and TWO not one flats. :) Thank heavens for #3--a golden eagle soaring overhead to figure out what was making the bottled air sounds!

  4. Oh no! (The flats I mean). I haven't had a flat in so long I've forgotten how frustrating they can be. Of course it's easier now with compressed air. I still ride sewups and carry a spare and a pump. Truly vintage.
The golden eagle sounds amazing. Just the words "golden eagle" are so regal.
