Dreaming in Blogger? (and a Few Stray Autumn Photos)

In my long sleep career, I have had many and various dreams. I have dreamt in Spanish; I have dreamt in French. I have had flying dreams (my favourite) and falling dreams (not so hot) and so-late-for-school-that-it's-finals-day-and-I-don't-even-know-where-my-classes-are dreams (possibly the worst, though it's great fun to wake up and realize I'm done with school and exams).

But the dream I had the other night beats all. In it, I was looking at the Blogger home page...

...and as I watched, the number of followers suddenly jumped by 1000, flickering from 300-something to 1300-something. My jaw dropped (my dream jaw, that is) and I thought to myself, "Wow, I guess I have more readers than I thought. A book deal can't be far behind."

Then I woke up.

I shudder to think what a psychoanalyst would make of this. And I think I've been spending way too much time in Blogger. :)

But as long as I'm here, I may as well post a photo or two from a lovely drive we took Sunday. Though a week of high winds has blown away much of the existing autumn colour, there's plenty yet to admire:

A gorgeous canopy of trees on a local Rural Road

The Wisconsin River modelling a number from the Autumn 2012 Collection

I would have taken more pictures had Mr. M not been channelling Mario Andretti. He loves to drive - Mr. M I mean - and is very good at it. So while he was taking the curves in great style, I was taking very few (and those mostly blurry) photos.

Halfway through the drive, we stopped for dessert at one of our favourite cafés in the next county. Carrot cake and coffee for Mr. M; chocolate mousse torte and tea for me. (Sorry, no food photos. We were too busy scarfing down carbs and caffeine to think of getting out the camera.)

Not a bad way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.

What is your craziest dream?

  2. Wow what a dream! At least you were fully dressed, I take it. I have the reoccurring dream of the dress tucked into the nylons. Terrifying!

The photos are indeed beautiful but you had me at "carbs". :-)

Oh and how about lucky me - my blog in your first photo.

I would buy your book, Sue. Good week to you!

    1. I haven't had the pantyhose dream, but there have been a few of the wearing-only-underwear-in-public variety. They always seemed to involve running in slow motion. Ugh! :)

  4. I just lost my nearly finished comment to go and look at your café menu to choose my cake! I love carrot cake, but today I might have chosen lemon poppyseed!
I love your canopy of trees that you drove through, they exist a lot in England too and I miss them here!
How interesting to have a blogger dream!!! I guess we dream about things that take up a lot of our time!

    1. That must be the answer to my Blogger dream.

The dessert case is always full of tempting things at this café, but we tend to order the same favourites over and over. :)

  5. Lovely photos! I stayed in Wisconsin a few times (most often at this time of year) and well remember the Wisconsin River.
I went to school in Warwick and when I was in the 6th form (the last 2 years of schooling) our form rooms were right at the top of the old town gate in town walls. The steps up started as stone which were worn down with age, and then went into wood the higher you climbed, again worn shallow with age. A lot of my dreams seem to be of this period in my life. I have to say that at that age I didn't value where I was studying....now I do! Joan

  6. Hahaha. What an interesting dream.
My craziest dream was: Me, hanging at a cliff, which was really bad. But to make things worse I realised that Bud Spencer was hanging on my foot. No chance to survive ....

  8. I don't know about craziest, but I know my worse, I call it my Class From Hell dream. I'm a retired teacher and each year before the start of school I'd have a dream about my new class and it was always bad, nothing I did worked, and I kept misplacing them. Another teaching dream is the one where I taught them to smoke and drink beer. It's nice to be retired.

  9. Ummmm... here's one of mine... But I must admit, I've had more than my fair share of wierd ones. I like yours much, much better! But even in real life, you have more followers than me!

And more leaves, too. Last week's snow pulled down most of ours...

Mr. M and The Lizard have yet one more thin in common... taking those curves as if they were Mario!

  15. The photos you did post are lovely. The canopy of trees is beautiful.
I used to have falling dreams a lot. Once when I was a kid I was falling in my dream and I actually fell out of the top bunk . That was a sudden wake up.

  16. If you're only judging this by your Blogger Friend Connect followers you will have far more than you think. There are so many ways folk can access blogs and many don't show on Blogger stats.

I've been thinking about your comment on static pages a while back by the way, and am planning a little series of blogging tips for knitso' :D
