Starting the Year Off Right...

...with yarn, of course!

On Friday I received a lovely package from Annie over at knitsofactocontaining my woolly winnings from her "Born & Bred" giveaway.

A beautiful book of Yorkshire-inspired knitting patterns...

...some absolutely gorgeous wool...

...with a woolly little sticker and exquisite card.

The yarn is gloriously soft and silky, and wonderfully pedigreed:

"100% British." Perfect for a confirmed Anglophile who has been wanting to flex her knitting muscles. (Those mitts in the second photo are calling my name. I've never knit cables, but it's high time I learned.)

Thanks so much, Annie, for this lovely giveaway. I look forward to knitting something British and beautiful in 2013.

And a happy, healthy New Year to all of my dear bloggy friends and readers.

What are your goals for 2013*?

*Mine are mostly fibre-related. I'd like to sell more patterns for publication, make more and better crochet videos, and (gulp) knit a pair of socks. In the intervals of yarny exploits I'd love to complete at least one 75-mile ride. (Double gulp.)
