"An egg is always an adventure; the next one may be different," said Oscar Wilde. In a country where uniformity has become a selling point for food and producers are separated from consumers by miles and days and gallons of fuel used in shipping and storing, one of my greatest pleasures is buying fresh local eggs laid by happy hens. I'm supporting local industry with every bite.
I couldn't agree more - fresh eggs are so much yummier than the store-bought kind! And when you see what conditions the poor factory hens live in, it really makes you appreciate it. :)
