A Quiet Christmas

Merry Christmas to you!

It's been a quiet Christmas at Micawber Towers - probably the quietest ever. We're both recovering from a rather nasty virus, so we stayed home to spare the family any chance of infection. We slept in, ate a simple breakfast, napped, read, napped some more, played a few games of Chinese Checkers, had another small meal, then watched a bit of Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers (we're a little behind on our annual viewing of the classic film trio). Then another nap for Mr. M, and some photo-editing and blogging for me.

Here are a few photos from last week's (pre-virus) Christmas-tree-cutting excursion, which took place under a brilliant December sky....

I hope your Christmas was merry and bright!

  2. Lovely images of your pre-Christmas outing. Sorry to hear about the virus that knocked you both out at Christmastime. Having a quiet time is lovely too! I'm going to do that now the hustle and bustle of Christmas is behind us!
I hope you'll soon be feeling completely well soon.

  4. So sorry you were sick. Your photos are wonderful however. Blue skies have been rather rare around here all month. Im trying to stay active and just accept this weather. Knit knit knit seems to help

So sorry that you both got sick. My Richard was sick on Christmas day, I was thinking we might have to make a trip to the ER. Oh dear. Let's all be well for the new year, okay? Let's shake on it! Happy Boxing Day today! (I know you know what I mean by that!)

    1. I love the natural ornaments too, though I suspect that brown ball-shaped thing was some kind of spider's nest. I decided against taking that tree home. :)

Hope Richard is feeling better now. Happy New Year to you both!

  9. I'm so sorry that illness ruined your holidays. I hate it when that happens. Who was it that cut your tree? It looks like a very fun excursion to get it. I'm glad you're getting better, tho!!

    1. Thank you! I love the tree farm we go to - it's not manicured and perfect, but natural and wonderful. The search for a tree is a bit like a treasure-hunt through the woods.

      Happy New Year to you!
