But I made it to the beach! And as a bonus my dearest old friend from high school was in town and came with me. A merry heart really does do good like a medicine. Sorrow and care were banished, if only for a few hours, by sunshine and laughter.
Here are a few snaps from my grand day out. (You can click on them to make them larger.)
Blue sky, jade water, and acres of sand |
Beachy Little Bracelets fulfilling their destiny |
Tommy Trojan got a new hat |
Beautiful colour on this seaweed |
Sandpiper jogging on the beach |
The cool splash of waves |
It was very windy, and quite a few seagulls were hunkered down on the sand... |
...until I started throwing crumbs to one of them. Then they all gathered round with hopeful expressions on their birdy faces. |
Toasty toes...aaaaahhh. |

I'm so glad that you managed a happy time on the beach even if you had to leave some things unresolved. Your first shot of the sea and beach is quite stunning and made me want to visit the shore.
ReplyDeleteThe Sandpiper looks as if it is having fun.
I, too, am glad you had time on the beach. We have yet another common bond with our parents. Only mine is with my dad.
ReplyDeleteI'm still keeping your parents in my prayers.
Thanks so much, everyone.
